Strait Shipping Booking Information

Reservations -

  • All passengers and cars must have a reservation.
  • Passenger's fare is additional to the cost of taking any car, campervan, minibus, etc on any Strait Shipping service. 
  • If a car towing a trailer or caravan, the cost of the trailer or caravan is additional to the cost of the car plus the cost of the passengers with in the car.
  • Due to operational requirements of Strait Shipping, the sailing time that you have requested may not be available.
  • If the sailing time you have requested is not available, you will be contacted to determine alternative sailing requirements.
  • Strait Shipping Reservation Centre processes email reservations 7 days a week.
  • Any reservation submitted less than 7 days prior to sailing date - full payment must by a credit/checking card or cheque drawn on a New Zealand bank. 
  • All prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars and include Goods and Service tax. All fares are subject to availability and may be changed without notice. 
  • At this stage no travel agent's commission will be paid.
   

Payment -

  • When you make a reservation, payment is due within 7 days of the reservation being confirmed.
  • It payment has not been received by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled.
  • Payment can by a credit card - Visa (Not Visa Electron), Mastercard, Diners Club, American Express or JCB, by cheque (Drawn on a New Zealand Bank), Internet Baking (NZ Only) or cash payments at any branch of Westpac New Zealand.
  • Payments by a Visa (Not Visa Electron), Mastercard, Diners Club, American Express or JCB card, payment will be processed by 'IPay New Zealand/IPay NZ Ltd'.

Change/Refund/Cancellation Conditions -

  • There will be on refunds once reservation/payment has been made.
  • If you are unable to travel on a the booked travel date, you can transfer to an altnernative sailing date without penalty. 
  • Any refund on compassionate or  medical grounds will be considered.
